The Advanced Summer School in Physics will be held in Mexico City from the 27th to the 31st of July 2020. It will be organized by the Department of Physics of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (Cinvestav-IPN).
The courses that will be presented this year are:
- An introduction to general relativity, black
holes and gravitational waves, by Dr. Nora Bretón - Tecnologías cuánticas basadas en átomos fríos, by Dr. Karina Jiménez García
- Materiales de Dirac, by Dr. Maurice Oliva-Leyva
Cinvestav is a public organization dedicated to develop, teach and promote research in science. Cinvestav counts with 37 Departments, separated into 4 research areas: Exact Sciences, Biology & Medicine, Technology & Engineering, and Social Sciences & Humanities.
The Department of Physics is one of the largest departments at Cinvestav. It currently counts with more than 50 researchers working on a wide variety of research topics: Quantum and Mathematical Physics, High Energy Physics and Fields, Solid State and NanoPhysics, Statistical Physics and Soft Condensed Matter, Medical Physics and Biophysics, and General relativity and Cosmology. This Advanced Summer School aims to cover these fields and to introduce the students to these topics and to the current edge research on each subject.
